MyFina vs YNAB

MyFina as a YNAB alternative

YNAB is a great envelope-budgeting tool, but it's expensive ($109/yr), USD-anchored, has no PSD2 sync for EU banks, and isn't localized beyond English. If you're in the EU or need multi-currency — MyFina covers ~90% of YNAB's features at a lower price.

How to migrate from YNAB

  1. 1Export your budget from YNAB via File → Export Budget Data (.zip).
  2. 2Unzip — inside is a CSV with transactions and categories.
  3. 3Import the CSV into MyFina via Transactions → Import. The wizard recognises the YNAB format and suggests column mapping.

What to know before migrating

  • No ads, no trackers — we're not Google or Mint.
  • Account hard-delete in one click via Settings → Data.
  • Open OpenAPI 3.1 — export back to YNAB or any ledger any time.
