MyFina vs YNAB
MyFina as a YNAB alternative
YNAB is a great envelope-budgeting tool, but it's expensive ($109/yr), USD-anchored, has no PSD2 sync for EU banks, and isn't localized beyond English. If you're in the EU or need multi-currency — MyFina covers ~90% of YNAB's features at a lower price.

Why MyFina over YNAB
YNAB doubles down on envelope budgeting and category discipline — it works, but specifically for someone with a US bank account and a USD paycheck. If you live in the EU, in Czechia, Poland, or Ukraine, YNAB doesn't know your Komerční banka, ING Polska, or Monobank, and has no PSD2 sync at all.
MyFina is built for cross-border living: ~30 European banks sync automatically via PSD2, currency rates can be manually pinned, and the interface is translated into 14 languages. Category budgets, savings goals, recurring lines — everything YNAB has — is here too.
Pricing also differs: YNAB is $109/year, MyFina Pro is €24.90/year. And Free is never a trial — CSV import, multi-currency, basic analytics stay free for one person, indefinitely.
How to migrate from YNAB
- 1Export your budget from YNAB via File → Export Budget Data (.zip).
- 2Unzip — inside is a CSV with transactions and categories.
- 3Import the CSV into MyFina via Transactions → Import. The wizard recognises the YNAB format and suggests column mapping.
